ORGANIC ORCHARD

HORTICULTURE

The organic garden currently covers an area of 0.5 hectares (all outdoors). We don’t use greenhouses—instead we create thermal blanket tunnels. Our eco production is fairly completed, but varies throughout the year according to the seasons.

OUR VEGETABLES

Different backgrounds

In order to be better adapted to the environment, we ensure that a large part of our crop varieties are native to Mallorca or the Balearic islands: ramallet tomato, squash, aubergine, different types of pepper (light green mallorquin, used in the “trampo” salad; tap de corti, for paprika), broad beans, purple artichoke, white onion …

We also cultivate a handful of varieties from the peninsula or abroad to meet the demands of our varied and international clientele: okra, radicchio, turnip greens, kale, arugula, mizuna, pak choy, wasabino, beets, fennel, chicory…

AROMATICAL HERBS

Wide range

We also offer a wide range of aromatic herbs for cooking, tisanes, therapeutic and medicinal remedies, for the home or for decoration…

Our range extends from very common herbs like parsley, celery, mint, basil, oregano, marjoram, thyme, sage, and rosemary to more rare or exotic herbs like lemon or Thai basil, dill, coriander, chamomile, pimpernel, lemongrass, lemon verbena, mustard, myrtle, rue, savory, lemon balm, and more…

There are some other products we currently are unable to produce or can only offer in very limited quantities for technical reasons (low soil depth, irrigation, access to machinery, or simply a need for more knowledge to ensure profitability). These include potatoes, onions, melons, …

OUR METHODS

FERTILISATION

We fertilize our crops with compost made on the farm, green manure, surface mulch/covers, bio-intensive, direct no-till planting, compost tea…

We do not employ direct forced fertilization made from dung, brewed plant matter, or manure.

In addition to selecting specific, quality vegetable varieties, you could say that at the heart of our ecological produce is good compost—made from different raw materials. Compost like this is the basis for bestowing excellent flavor and taste to our ecological vegetables.
